Magazine Spread Reboot
This project by far was one of the most challenging to “resonate” with. I tend to gravitate towards a lighter, softer, airy type of feel and design work, and an article talking about mass shootings and death and blood isn't exactly the most light or soft thing. But that was the best thing I learned, was that most likely in your career, it will be a rare thing to be working on something that completely and totally “resonates” with you. So push through and get your work done the best way you know how.
Since the subject matter was already heavy enough, I used a white background to keep the mood up, but stuck to a black and red color palette to communicate that this was still a serious topic, and for viewers to make the association with first aid.
